Fantastic work! Extremely professional! Ishmael refinished the floors in our Midtown East pre-war co-op last year. We recently removed some built in bookshelves which had the old damaged floors beneath. Ishmael was able to refinish that small bit to look exactly like the work he did last year. It looks seamless. Always responsive, polite, fair price, and easy to work with. We highly recommend Ishmael and his team!

I will echo sentiments of other reviewers to say that Ishmael is professional in all respects: good assessment of what was needed, responsive to questions and concerns, clarity of steps to get it done. He and his crew took excellent care in moving furniture and valuables to do the best job. I was particularly impressed with the follow-up to bring the apartment back to normalcy: he took pictures of where items had been placed and took time and care to move furniture, draperies and art to my satisfaction. I really felt taken care of, and the floors look beautiful!

It took us over a year to decide among several contractors, and whether to refinish or replace our old squeaky wood flooring. Great American Hardwood Floors Inc. was there all the way, with best and most insightful information, advice, and cost-cutting tips. And with patience; no pressure.

Ishmael and his team replaced the flooring and refinished the staircase; all beautifully done in just about the time and cost estimate given.

I had a very positive experience with Ishmael and his flooring company. He was extremely responsive throughout the process, arrived on time for an initial assessment, and arrived at a later on appointed time with an assistant to refinish our bedroom floor and patch a few spots on our dining room and living room floors. Both he and his assistant were very professional and collegial throughout the entire process, and our floors came out beautifully. The result was well beyond my expectations. I would definitely and will likely use his services again and would recommend him to anyone.

Ishmael and his team are excellent. My wife and I have nothing but positive things to say. From the start, Ishmael was clear and communicative, and made great suggestions for how we could achieve the best possible outcome. He came out to give us a quote on a Saturday and by that evening, we had the quote in hand. The job started on Tuesday. He stuck to his word across everything, and we are in love with our new (and newly refinished) floors. He was creative in his approach to some challenging situations with the floors, and went out of his way to add extra little finishes to ensure we loved the final result. The crew broke an outlet during the process (totally understandable, given the huge planks of wood coming up) and Ishmael even came to the house last night at 9pm to replace it. He's true to his word, he's reasonably priced given the excellent service, and it was a true pleasure working with him. And most importantly: we LOVE our floors! Thanks, Ishmael.

Outstanding. Ishmael and his team did 3 jobs for me this year at three different times. After he did a great job sanding and staining my floors grey. i called him back to stain another level of floors the same color grey. This company is great to work with. They kept the dust to a minimum and were on time. They delivered a great product. I am a landlord and it is important for me to have contractors that I can depend on to do a good job the first time and they delivered each time. I highly recommend them, as they reduced my stress as they work hard to deliver a great product. As mentioned I hired this company three separate times this past several months and each time they delivered great work, so that is why I am writing this review. They truly earned my business.

Ishmael was pleasant to work from finish to start. I first talked to him on the phone (very professional and pleasant). I then received a quote for the work i wanted by email. The day he came over to look at the floor that i wanted to remove and I didn't actually get work done because he advised me my floors didn't look like it is infested with powder post beetles. He patiently explained to me what characteristics my new floors had and was even able to duplicate some of the flaws of my floors. I Appreciated his expertise and he didn't just jump into selling me his service. He wanted me to make sure i was certain. If i do need work on my floors I will definitely be contacting Ishmael.
